My photographs are an emotional response to the pure, infinite beauty found in nature as well as what that beauty illuminates about our own experiences. Though the focus on line and color often make the images appear as works of abstraction, they are an intentional effort to push beyond the surface; to see and feel life more deeply. With my images, I try to challenge the viewer to think differently about photography as a medium for artistic interaction. For me, the art of photographing is more an exercise in capturing the feeling of a moment rather than the literal landscape.

All images are infused on aluminum metal and are produced on a large scale (ranging in size from 20×30 to 30×45). This approach to presentation enhances the painterly, abstract effect of the images. It also continues to push the boundaries of the viewers’ expectations of a photograph.
