CHRISTOPHER BAER: HOLDING THE CENTER

For his new of body work, Baer builds on two decades of formalist abstract painting to explore the open invitation to hold seemingly opposite truths at the same time. Composed of simple geometries and textured impasto, each work signifies how there are many vantage points with which to investigate our circumstances should we have the courage to do so. The work is an acknowledgement of the tension, discomfort and patience that accompany growth and healing, and is an invitation to become better acquainted with the grace we might afford ourselves and others in any given moment.
